Mother Marrs holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a minor in human resources. She has nearly completed her MBA. The Lord blessed her to retire from a prominent nonprofit business recently. She has a new, fulfilling career in life insurance and is licensed in several states, including California, Pennsylvania, Utah, Nevada, and more. Mother Marrs recently established Rose Way Life Insurance Agency.

Mother Marrs humbly serves as the Greater Woodlawn Park Trustee Board Secretary, Church Secretary, President of the Prayer and Bible Band, Director of Education, Drama Department President, and member of the Deaconess Board. Her love for God and passion for serving the Lord and His people motivate Mother Marrs to work. She received her training as a child at Williams Temple Church of God in Christ in Cleveland, Ohio, under the leadership of the late Bishop Warren E. Miller and the church mothers. The US Navy also had a hand in her training when they stationed her to serve in San Diego. Under the tutelage of the late Bishop George D. McKinney, Mother Marrs learned how to organize and multi-task as a secretary for Bishop McKinney, how to serve in Missions under the late ‘Marvelous’ Marvella Simmons, and how to study the Word of God while preparing to be licensed as an Evangelist Missionary in the Church of God in Christ.

Later, Mother Marrs continued to grow in Christ under Bishop Roy Dixon's leadership. Bishop Dixon appointed her the Southern California Fourth Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction Finance Secretary and later the Jurisdiction Secretary.

Mother Marrs was appointed Administrative Assistant for Mother JoAnne Hooks, Supervisor of the Southern California Fourth Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, where she successfully served for over eight years. She is currently the Executive Administrator for Bishop Dixon, the Field Representative for the Sunday School department, and a District Missionary.

After it’s all said and done, Mother Marrs has but one goal: to see Jesus in peace.
